To Everything There Is A Season

I am a book that was written in February 1965 as the song To Everything There Is A Season by the Byrds, transmitted through the air from every radio station in America. Like the seasons, my story has a beginning, a middle and an end. It has a bright white glossy cover with splashes of pink and red and has been placed on coffee tables for conversation. My pages have never been read cover to cover. Although many people have picked my book up and admired the cover, they have mostly just skimmed through the pages for the highlights and [...]

Stop and Smell the Roses

Take some time to stop and smell the roses. Stop and smell the roses Why are people so focused on the results of their actions, instead of the journey? We are always pushing to be better. Better at our career, or even as a human being in general.  We’re putting so much pressure on ourselves that we actually let life pass us by. Yes, it sounds silly, but in trying to create a better life for ourselves, we are missing it as it happens. Think about the businessman who dedicated his life to building a successful venture so [...]

Measure Your Life With Love

525,600 minutes...How do you measure a year in life?  Measure your life with love! Love is a plethora of emotions that can smack you right upside the head and turn your world upside down in a matter of moments. This was the first time I felt the stinging of love like someone squeezed lemon in my eyes. It was love at [...]

COMMUNICATE, APPRECIATE AND VALIDATE.

Last night I was inspired to write...again based on my own experience.  So much so, I spent the majority of the night flipping from side to side and struggling to find the cold spot on the pillow. So here I am up at 4am furiously typing with no thought of proper punctuation or grammar usage (clearly corrected by the time you read this). My words, “one more time,” as they came slipping off my tongue, passed my lips and into the ears of the listener, (hopefully listening) lingered so long in my brain that I became tormented. The words I [...]

The Power of Being Vulnerable

There is great power in being vulnerable. Many people I’ve encountered are scared, for one reason or another. Scared to make a career move, scared to have children, or even scared to tell someone they love them for the first time. No matter what it is, it boils down to one thing: they are scared of being exposed.  But seriously, what is wrong with being vulnerable? I’m sure you think about being vulnerable as the opposite of being strong. Strength is something society admires because we think we are in control of our lives. If you allow yourself to become [...]
